Burning man

They call it black rock city and as you can see in the picture above it is out in the middle of no where in Nevada i believe. Burning man is about a week long art expression convention if you will. people set up camps and rvs and provide everything them selves espically water. there saying is even " piss clear" meaning stay hydrated. The point of this entire thing is to create your own world. People create their own extragant cars, and art work. At night a huge burning man is lit up. People walk around naked, or in their own art creation. The website also said something along the lines of there is not someone that has not thought of something more weird than you, meaning just do waht ever you feel like doing and you won't be judged. The website even had a how to survive guide. I thought about going for a second till i saw the "how to not be sexually harrased" part i think it would be an AMAZING experince buttt i don't think i would be able to handle it.

Harold Cohen / Aaron

Prof Harold Cohen spent like 30 creating Aaron, a computer artist type thing! Aaron is the first computer to create its own original painting. Aaron also makes his own paints and colors this only shows us how far technology has really come! Pretty soon we are going to go to museums to look at art that a computer has made rather than a person.
Aaron can make paintings about anything that it has been taught. And it probably something way better than i can do!

Christophe Bruno

He was my favorite person to hear about in class probably because he was the most interactive. There are many things that he has created that allows you to interact with his art. One of them being this. It is kinda like mad libs where you insert your own words as you please. I did it and took a screen shot but there is so much that you can do. It is not really appropriate for everyone but still fun!:)

Jeffery shaw

He is another artist that has taken then movement society is headed in and made art out of it. In this piece he take a bike and connects it to a large screen..kinda. Then he made a city out of words. So instead of just riding a bike. Or riding in a bike in a gym and watching commercials the entire time. Or even riding in a virtual world but it still looking the same like ours, this way you are riding into a world or city like you have never even seen before. It is a city made of words. I don't know if the words tell a story or if the words have a meaning but it would still be entertaining to read not just a book but an entire city made out of words as you exercise!

Knowbotic Research

"My Black Cat" Is a room a controlled space. It is a black room w/ black balloons and once in the room you are asked to stand still. Then a voice will talk to you about the black cat. At first you might think that the balloons are supposed to represent the black cat, but those are simply black balloons. Society is so set on everything being done for them such as pushing a button and getting results but this room actually forces the viewer to think and imagine the black cat in the room w/ them

Masaki Fujihata

This artist is also very futuristic in this photo he is riding a bike, which has already been modified at the gym instead of actually having to go out side and get some fresh air you can now stay in one spot and read or listen to music instead of actually paying attention to the world outside. This is taking that even further instead of having to read or listen to music while riding the bike you have your entertainment right in front of you. Right now it is just art, but in the future it will most likely be a reality, like most artist Masaki Fujihata is just making art, but he is also trying to say something about the human race.

Stelarc

So a lot of his art is like futuristic and to me a little disturbing. I might only feel that way because he is standing on a spider like machine and i HATE spiders, but his other art work involved ears on arms and faces merging. Like most other artist it is probably just his way of seeing the world and what it is becoming. Maybe the ears on the arms could be saying like with all of the surgery taking place, and all of the technology where will it stop? This one i think is saying, like since everything is moving forward, whose to say that we will not all be riding on some kind of machine sooner or later, thats fine w/ me as long as they are NOT spiders.
